Kai Allen scored a second career win in emphatic style, equalling the 2026 tally of reigning Bathurst 1000 winner and teammate Matt Payne.
Payne was fourth in today’s race and, with Triple Eight duo Will Brown and Broc Feeney fifth and seventh, Grove leads the standings by 28 points.
Grove Racing owner Stephen Grove told Speedcafe that the teams’ title is the top prize on his priority list that the squad is yet to win.
“We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves but for me, Bathurst is a huge thing to win and the next thing is the teams’ championship,” he said.
“For me it shows that the whole team has worked together, both drivers have worked together. It’s a big item on my list.
“At the moment we’re leading it. We just need to continue to work hard and continue to get points and see where we end up.”

It’s the second time Grove has edged ahead in the teams’ championship battle this year, having done so midway through the Australian Grand Prix weekend.
Grove is leading despite a pair of 30-point penalties this season.
The first was for having more than the number of permitted personnel at the track on Thursday at Taupo and the second for Payne’s wayward wheel at Ruapuna.
