SAYRE READY TO GO

DESPITE the upcoming season schedule being up in the air, Daniel Sayre and the Aussie Racing team remain upbeat about their 2023-24 season prospects.

In what is his seventh season in 410 Sprintcars, Sayre will be getting his 2023-24 season underway at Moama’s Heartland Raceway on the NSW-Victorian border for the opening Eureka Garages & Sheds Series round.

After Sayre and the Aussie Racing team’s home track – Eastern Creek Speedway – was closed down last month for the foreseeable future, it forced them to totally reorganise their season schedule.

“Like everyone here in Sydney, it came as a massive disappointment to have Eastern Creek Speedway close their gates on the eve of the season starting, and it was a massive spanner thrown into the works for our whole season,” commented the 26-year-old from Bligh Park in western Sydney, NSW.

“With there being no clear picture regarding to when Eastern Creek Speedway will reopen, the team and I have decided to hit the road and visit interstate and regional NSW tracks. At this stage, we don’t have a full schedule mapped out, but we will be taking it a month-to-month basis during the season.”

Aside from the mixed schedule for the 2023-24 season, other off-season changes for Sayre and the Aussie Racing team are switching makes of chassis from the Maxim to the Triple X brand.

When it comes to season goals, Sayre is aiming to make more visits to the podium aboard his NSW # 16 Aussie Forklifts / One6 Industries supported Triple X car.

“I’d love to contend for more podiums this season, and I’m confident that the changes we have made during the off season are going to help me achieve that,” he enthused.

“With Sprintcar racing being so competitive, qualifying towards the front of feature races is vital, as it’s difficult when you start further down the field and have to work your way forward, but I’m confident that if I can start towards the front more often, I have the speed to stay there.”

Sayre’s team-mate and wife, Ashleigh Sayre, is set to sit out the first half of the Sprintcar season, due to injury, but she remains confident about getting back behind the wheel of her NS # 16 Aussie Forklifts / One6 Industries backed Maxim car by February of next year.

Upcoming Aussie Racing Schedule:

Oct 21: Heartland Raceway (Moama, NSW) – Eureka Series (Round 1)
Nov 4: Premier Speedway (Warrnambool, Vic) – Eureka Series (Round 2)
Nov 18: Lismore Speedway (Lismore, NSW) – $5,000 to Win
Nov 25: Morris Park Speedway (Dubbo, NSW) – Club Show

Sayre and the Aussie Racing team would like to thank their 2023-24 season supporters:
