Former Formula One driver and V8 Supercars Race Director Tim Schenken says the sport is in the best shape it has ever been.
Schenken told Speedcafe.com.au that the cost containment initiatives being employed by the sport is the key to its continual growth.
“The sport is going up and up and up,” he said.
“There's no doubt that the sort of things that Mark Skaife and V8 Supercars are doing about cost containment is the right way to go. It's going to be an important factor for the sport going forward.
“As far as managing races is concerned we'll continue to model what we do, to what FIA do in Formula One.”
