British racing legend Sir Stirling Moss is recovering in a Singapore hospital from a serious chest infection.
A statement issued by the grand prix legend’s family states that he is in ‘good spirits’.
“His condition continues to improve and his doctors now consider him to be stable,” the statement read.
“Sir Stirling is in good spirits and only upset about having missed his Christmas cruise with friends.
“The hospital in Singapore is second to none and the consultants, doctors, nurses, therapists and staff looking after him could not be more wonderful.
“Lady Moss says she could not wish for a better facility or a more qualified team.

“Once he is discharged from the hospital, it is Sir Stirling and Lady Moss’ hope to stay in Singapore to enjoy a few days recuperating at a lovely hotel, being thoroughly spoilt, whilst lying in the sun by a gorgeous swimming pool”.
The 87-year-old is regarded as the greatest driver never to win a Formula 1 World Championship.
Moss, runner-up in the F1 driver’s title four times, was admitted to hospital on December 22 however he has suffered from complications since.
In a 10-year span before his grand prix career was cut short after an horrific crash at Goodwood which left him in a coma in 1962, Moss won 16 races from 66 F1 starts.
