Day two of round one of Willowbank Racweay’s New Year Series has been abandoned due to wet weather.
A storm hit the track at approximately 5.20pm, and with further storms predicted in the coming hours Willowbank Raceway management made the decision to abandon the meeting.
Willowbank Raceway told event goers that it apologises for any inconvenience caused by the decision, and urged event goers to keep their admission tickets as they can be honoured at the Raceway for the next six months (to their value – for more information please visit www.willowbankraceway.com.au)
Coming up at the Ipswich drag-strip is round two of the New Year Series on Friday January 14 and Saturday January 15, featuring Nitro Funny Cars, ANDRA Pro Series brackets Top Doorslammer and Pro Stock, and feature category Pro FX, and in March, the 2011 Top Fuel Championships will take place over the 25th and 26th hosting Top Fuel, Top Bike and Pro Stock Bike.
