A planned 60km hitout for Kai Allen’s fresh machine at Winton on Wednesday has been pushed back to Thursday due to forecast rain.
Up to 15mm of rain is being predicted for nearby Benalla on Wednesday.
While showers are also now forecast for Thursday, it’ll be the last chance for the car to run before the trip to Hidden Valley.
The build of Allen’s Mustang has already been completed by the team at its workshop in Braeside, Melbourne.
GR-04 marks Allen’s first brand-new Supercar, with his previous ride – debuted by Richie Stanaway at the start of 2024 – now assigned as a spare.
The new car will run at Winton devoid of the team’s regular Penrite Racing colours, with an Indigenous Round livery to be applied on Friday before the car is loaded into the team’s transporter.
Supercars has again made incorporating indigenous artwork into livery designs compulsory for the June 19-21 event.
Grove Racing has an ongoing association with the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School and will reveal its livery on Wednesday of race week.
