Both the #17 Brodie Kostecki and #38 Rylan Gray entries will carry the eye-catching yellow hues at the Reid Park Circuit.
The change has been made to promote the ‘Minions & Monsters Bag Buddy’ collectibles currently on sale at Shell Reddy Express and Shell OTR around Australia.
DJR has fielded predominantly yellow cars during various eras with Shell, including a golden period in the mid-1990s that netted Bathurst and championship success.
It more recently ran its 2023 Bathurst 1000 wildcard – driven by Simona De Silvestro and Kai Allen – in a yellow version of its base livery.
DJR CEO Megan Foster, who previously worked at Shell importer Viva Energy, hailed the partnership between the brands.
“It’s great to be able to partner with Shell Reddy Express and Shell OTR in such a fun promotion of such a globally popular phenomenon in the Minions,” she said.
“Yellow has been a winning colour for us in the past, and the fan comments under a recent social media post from Shell Australia reminded us of just how well-received our yellow wildcard entry was at Bathurst in 2023.
“Keep your eyes peeled for some neat Minions-themed touches trackside and on our social media channels over the weekend.”

While adopting the famous Minion colours, the cars themselves do not feature any illustrations of the famous characters.
Kostecki is set to return to action in Townsville following a dramatic withdrawal from the previous round in Darwin.
The event marks 12 months since Kostecki scored his first win for the famous Ford team, achieved in the Friday race of the 2025 Townsville 500.
