He will join the business on August 4, exactly two months after the exit of predecessor Matthew Carmichael.
Raman has acted as BMW Australia’s communications manager for the past seven years, during which he has engaged with Supercars on the Bathurst 12 Hour.
The Raman resume also includes stints at Lexus Australia, public relations agency The Project Group and automotive empire Stellantis.
Raman’s Supercars role is set to be based alongside the company’s PR team on the Gold Coast in yet another change of strategy for the position.
Carmichael had been appointed late last year amid a shift of the role from the Gold Coast to Sydney under the direction of then CEO James Warburton.
Raman will report to Sydney-based chief marketing officer Charlotte Valente, while Barclay Nettlefold leads the business from Melbourne.
Supercars chairman Nettlefold took over as interim CEO following Warburton’s departure but is tipped to retain the role indefinitely.
