Supercars is set to trial a Formula 1 style team owners press conference which could be introduced at next month’s Pirtek Perth SuperNight.
The championship has confirmed to Speedcafe.com that is investigating the concept that is hoped to be regularly rolled out at race weekends.
F1 operates a similar system with team principals offered up to the media after Friday practice.
It is envisaged that by offering team owners to the press in the lead up to track action at race events will help create storylines for the championship to be played out over the weekend.
The concept is also aimed to improved access for the media with the press conference to be shown on the championship’s website and social media channels.
Supercars currently host press conferences with the top three drivers at the end of Friday practice and after the races on Saturday and Sunday.
The team owners press conference is among a number of items being trialled which was evident at Phillip Island, with topical drivers being included in the Friday practice press conference outside of the top three from the session.
