Stewards have issued $3,000 fines and points penalties to Tekno Autosports and Kelly Racing following Race 8 at the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint.
The two teams were guilty of breaching Rule 5.11.2 which states that the brake lock mechanism must be engaged during pit stops, a regulation brought in this season to prevent wheel spinning while crews carry out pit stops.
As a result, both teams have been hit with $3,000 fines and the loss of 30 teams’ championship points after Jack Le Brocq (Tekno) and Garry Jacobson (Kelly Racing) were found to have breached the regulation.
Earlier today, officials confirmed that Erebus Motorsport had also fallen foul of the rule with David Reynolds in Race 7 with the same fine and penalty applied.
The report also revealed that Tickford Racing was hit with a $2,000 suspended fine and the loss of 30 points for a tyre infringement on Will Davison’s car.
Garry Rogers Motorsport, DJR Team Penske, Brad Jones Racing, Walkinshaw Andretti United and Matt Stone Racing were issued with $1,000 suspended fines for trolley infringements.
