V8 Supercars has secured a deal with the Federal Communications Minister Stephen Conroy to de-list the next three events from the anti-siphoning list.
The news means that the Skycity Triple Crown at Hidden Valley, the Sucrogen Townsville 400 and the Ipswich 300 at Queensland Raceway will be broadcast live or as live on either the Seven Network or 7mate.
After a number of issues over the past two events where different states were juggling the broadcast times – including late night coverage on Sunday night in South Australia – V8 Supercars Chairman Tony Cochrane has ensured that V8 fans will get to watch the race each Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
“I can assure you the broadcast schedule is an absolute priority for V8 Supercars,” Cochrane said.
“We are working closely with Seven to achieve an optimal outcome for fans and pleased to let you know the Minister for Communications has agreed to delist Darwin, Townsville and Queensland Raceway to allow the races to be shown live on 7mate where there is a clash with AFL on Seven.”
