Australian teenager Jon Venter will make his debut in the Asian GT series with the Craft-Bamboo team at Japan’s Fuji Speedway.
Venter and American Kevin Gleason will share one of the team’s Aston Martin Vantage GT3s for rounds five and six of the series.
The pair will handle the #99 Aston while the experienced combination of Hong Kong’s Frank Yu and German Stefan Mucke will be in charge of the #97 car.
Venter drove a production class BMW 1-series in Class E of the 2013 edition of the Bathurst 12 Hour last year as a 16-year-old.
A former state and national karting champion, Venter has competed in the Victorian (state champion in 2012) and Australian Formula Ford Championships.
Venter is the second Australian to join Craft-Bamboo after Carrera Cup regular and Holden Racing Team enduro co-driver Warren Luff was drafted into the squad for the season-opener at Inje in South Korea.

Yu is relishing the chance of stepping back into competition alongside Mucke after cracking a podium and a fifth place with Luff in the first two races in May.
“Having paired up with Richard Lyons in Autopolis (Japan) and with Warren Luff at the season opener in Korea was a great experience and they were both excellent drivers who helped the team a great deal,” Yu said.
“We are all looking forward to a great weekend and I am sure we will all make the most of it.”
Craft-Bamboo Racing was formed as the result of a merger between two GT and endurance series participants Craft Racing AMR and touring car series participants Bamboo Engineering.
The partnership was announced early April, prior to its first outing at the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in Europe.
