Spectacular drone footage of the Boost Mobile Kostecki Brothers Racing (KBR) Supercar at the team’s pre-Bathurst test has been released.
The video was captured by drone racing world champion Rudi Browning, whose FPV drone can travel at speeds of over 200 km/h, at Queensland Raceway.
“The Supercars are insane but my racing drone does give it a run for its money!” said the 15-year-old Australian, who won the 2018 World Drone Racing Championships in Shenzhen, China.
“The drones I fly can go well over 200 km/h and reach those speeds in only a couple of seconds.
“I use first person view goggles that allow me to see what the camera sees onboard the drone. The close up and unique angles I can achieve with my drone open many opportunities for action sports filming.
“Being crowned World Champion was an amazing experience that has allowed me to transfer many of my racing skills into fast aerial filming.”
Brodie and Jake Kostecki will contest all three of this year’s Pirtek Enduro Cup events.
Their Virgin Australia Supercars Championship debuts will come at next week’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, for which practice starts on Thursday.
