David Wall will make his full-time debut in the V8 Supercars Championship after confirmation of his drive at Brad Jones Racing.

The Sydney driver will steer the #21 BJR Holden Commodore VE with primary backing from Wilson Security.

Wall replaces Karl Reindler, who switches to Kelly Racing’s #16 entry this year.

Wilson Security will be the primary sponsor of the #21 Commodore, joined by Payce, Paynter Dixon and Astrontech as minor backers.

The security company, formally involved with Tony D’Alberto Racing last year, also confirmed it will have a presence on the BJR Commodores of Wall’s new team-mates Jason Bright and Fabian Coulthard.

Confirmation of Wall’s drive at BJR has been in the works for some time, with Speedcafe.com linking the pair as far back as October last year. CLICK HERE for Speedcafe’s past story.

Wall is an experienced campaigner, having won back-to-back Australian GT Championships in 2009/10, and has three V8 endurance seasons under his belt – two of those with BJR.

Wall says that he is looking forward to the opportunity, but is not underestimating the challenge.

“Obviously, it’s a massive step, but it’s one I’m looking forward to,” he told Speedcafe.com.

“I’m putting myself up against the elite drivers in the country, and that’s what you need to do if you want to be a professional driver – you need to prove yourself against those guys.”

Wilson Security CEO John McMellan that his new 2012 deal is about “expanding and consolidating.”.

“2012 will see Wilson Security both further expand and consolidate its presence within V8 Supercars,” he said.

“We’ve always focused on young, developing drivers who are traditionally with non-factory teams because, in business, we know you need a level of quality ‘personal’ service where the customer deals with the decision maker.

“Having three of the cars that we will be associated with in 2012 together is also an obvious real positive for us.

“When we bring our customers and staff to the track it’s good to see a similar ethos from the teams and drivers that we are associated with, as it reinforces a consistent commercial message.”

Wall and his Wilson Security Commodore will have their first opportunity together at Sandown for V8 Supercars’ official test day on February 11.
