Mark Webber, Brendon Hartley and Timo Bernhard have taken the lead in the World Endurance Championship after claiming a third win on the bounce at a wet-dry Fuji race.

The #17 Porsche 919 scored a 14.3s victory over the sister #18 machine which is shared by Neel Jani, Marc Lieb and Romain Dumas.

The Porsches swapped positions late in the race with the #7 Audi driven by Marcel Fassler, Benoit Treluyer and Andre Lotterer third which saw them relinquish their lead in the driver’s standings.

Webber, Hartley and Bernhard have moved to 129 points, one clear of the #7 Audi crew with two rounds remaining.

With wet conditions for the start, the Safety Car paced the field for the opening 40 minutes of the 6 Hour race with the #7 Audi leading its sister #8 R18 e-tron quattro.

The Porsches then found their mark in drying conditions with the #18 Porsche Hybrid leading by the halfway mark.
