Bamber’s co-driver Sebastien Bourdais pulled the #38 Jota Sports Cadillac V-Series.R into the pits and lost several laps as the team remedied the issue.
RESULTS: 24 Hours of Le Mans after Hour 12
Jack Aitken had been leading the race when he handed the reins over to Bourdais, who pitted only three laps into his stint.
The team eventually got the car back on track, albeit eight laps down.
Cadillac is still in contention for the win with the sister #12 car of Louis Deletraz, Will Stevens, and Norman Nato leading at halfway.
The #20 BMW M Team WRT entry ran second while the #7 Toyota Racing GR010 was third.
