For the second time in a month, Brad Jones Racing has been forced to cancel a test day at Winton Motor Raceway due to wet weather.
The team had planned to run its three championship cars, in addition to Luke Youlden’s Dunlop Series entry, today ahead of the next V8 Supercars event at the rural Victorian venue in less than two weeks time.
Morning rain, however, has seen the team elect to abandon the test before putting any of its cars on the circuit.
The team has pencilled in a return to Winton between the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000 on September 27.
“It’s a shame because it was such a lovely weekend but then come Monday it’s wet,” team manager Chris Clark told Speedacfe.com..
“There’s not much we can do about it. One of the engine guys said that in 10 years he hasn’t had a test rained out and now it’s happened to us twice in a couple of weeks.”

BJR will campaign six cars at the Winton race meeting having added a third Dunlop Series entry for Fabian Coulthard’s endurance co-driver Luke Youlden.
Nissan Motorsport is currently running its four Altimas at Winton, pressing ahead with its program for international drivers Michael Krumm and Lucas Ordonez, in addition to its four endurance co-drivers.
Lapping tentatively in the wet during the morning, the cars were finally switched to slicks as lunch time approached.
While Nissan will return to the circuit for a second day tomorrow, BJR’s Holdens will be dispatched to Sydney ahead of a ride day at Sydney Motorsport Park on Wednesday.
