Will Power says Indy 500 raffle winners in for ‘once in a lifetime’ experience

Will Power says Indy 500 raffle winners in for ‘once in a lifetime’ experience

Power, a two-time IndyCar champion and the 2018 Indy 500 winner, says that the winners will be treated to a VIP experience like no other and has encouraged motorsport and sports fans in general to grab a ticket.

Tickets for the raffle are just $A20 and can be purchased directly through www.ultimatemotorsportprize.com – with all proceeds going to St Vincent’s.

After three successful years, the Ultimate Motorsport Prize program has been extended to include a second raffle to the 2024 Indianapolis 500, where Power and his Team Penske teammate Scott McLaughlin are expected to be two serious contenders.

The Ultimate Motorsport Prize to the Bathurst 1000 was created by Pirtek as a fund-raising activity for the Peter Duncan Neuroscience Research Centre at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney and has been a great success thanks to the generosity of Pirtek and other stakeholders.

The Ultimate Indy 500 Prize has been created as an extension of that and has been done in partnership with Pirtek, Team Penske and Speedcafe.com.

“Anyone that has been to the Indy 500 knows there is nothing like it in world sports,” said Power.

“It is an amazing place and an incredible race which everyone has to experience at least once in their lives.

“The Ultimate Motorsports Prize raffle offers an incredible “money can’t buy” experience for one lucky winner and an even luckier friend and I am proud to support it as part of Team Penske.

“There would have been few people in the history of the event that would have had the chance to experience everything that is in store for the raffle winners.

“You can not over sell the Indy 500 because it is so good, but this prize takes it to a whole new level. It will be a mind-blowing, money can’t buy experience.

“The effort to pull this together from Team Penske and Pirtek has been tremendous and it is cool that all the proceeds go to such a great cause.”

The prize will include return economy airfares to the US, four nights accommodation in Indianapolis, tickets to the 2024 Indy 500, a meet and greet with Team Penske drivers Scott McLaughlin and/or Will Power, access to the Team Penske hospitality area, a meet and greet with NBC’s Australian commentator Leigh Diffey, a Team Penske merchandise pack, Pirtek Merchandise pack and $US1000 spending money.

Pirtek CEO Stephen Dutton, said the momentum building towards the inaugural Indy 500 raffle has been incredible.

“I think fans are starting to get an idea of just how good these raffle prizes are,” said Dutton.

“The reaction to the inaugural Indy 500 raffle has been fantastic, but we really want to go hard in the next six weeks or so and raise as much money as possible for the Peter Duncan Neurosciences Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital.

“Pirtek is proud to underwrite the initiative to ensure all monies raised are put to maximum use.

“We could not have pulled this together without the incredible support of Team Penske and we have to thank Will [Power] and Scott [McLaughlin] for their enthusiasm of the initiative.

“It would be icing on the cake to have our prize winners on the ground for a Team Penske victory at this year’s 500.”

Pirtek Team Murray owner and original founder of Speedcafe.com, Brett “Crusher” Murray, will be the winners’ personal host at the event.

Winner of the Ultimate Indy 500 Prize raffle will be announced on Friday, February 23, 2024 – leaving plenty of planning time for the Indy 500 which will be run from May 23-26, 2024.

The inaugural raffle has been made possible by Pirtek, Team Penske and Speedcafe.com.

About Peter Duncan Neurosciences Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital

The Peter Duncan Neurosciences Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney was established in 2012 and made possible by a donation by Mr Peter Duncan AM Executive Chairman of Pirtek.

The focus has been turning Neurosciences research into treatments for patients suffering chronic neurological neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, MS and Parkinson’s disease.

Funds raised from the Raffle will support a senior postdoctoral neurosciences research fellow within the Peter Duncan Neurosciences Research Unit.

The new researcher will study adult neuro stem cells and consider ways to improve their regenerative capacity in order to develop new real treatments for brain injury common in high impact sports, and degenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease.
