Aussie Racing Cars will support V8 Supercars at all seven of its events next year which includes a return to Mount Panorama.
The tin top one-make support category has proved to be a popular form of motorsport regularly attracting grids in excess of 30 cars, which has prompted the launch of an upscaled calendar for 2014.
The 2014 championship, held over seven rounds, will begin at the famous Clipsal 500 in Adelaide for the opening round of the V8 Supercars season from February 2-March 2.
From there, it will head to Symmons Plains, Tasmania and then travel to Barbagallo Raceway in Perth for the first time, before a visit to Queensland Raceway in August.
In October the category will up-spec all the cars to the high aero wing kits for the Bathurst 1000 event.
This will be the first time in five years that Aussie Racing Cars has joined the V8 Supercar support card at Bathurst.
The streets of Surfers Paradise will again play host to an ARC event, however in 2014 the Gold Coast event is being designated a ‘Special Event’ and will not carry championship status.
The Grand Final will be held at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in November.
The category will again up-spec to the high aero wing kits for the fast and flowing Victorian circuit.
“The 2014 Series will be contested over seven rounds exclusively with the V8 Supercars and in order to provide teams with flexibility in the busy second half of the year we have designated the Gold Coast event as non-championship”, said Brad Ward, ARC Category Manager.
“The season will include the biggest and best events on the V8 Supercars calendar including the Clipsal 500 Adelaide, Gold Coast 600 and Bathurst 1000.
“We are excited to be taking the category to Perth for the first time and I know our competitors and sponsors are really looking forward to racing in WA.
“We’ve worked hard to secure a good mix of events for our competitors and fans and we are excited to be taking the category to all of Australia’s best street circuits and permanent race tracks in 2014.”
