Brad Jones Racing has revealed the colour scheme Macauley Jones will run on his wildcard entry at this weekend’s CrownBet Darwin Triple Crown.

The Albury squad has been busy converting a VF Commodore into the latest ZB model for the Super2 regular to field in the main game at Hidden Valley Raceway.

The #4 entry will run a white and blue livery courtesy of title sponsors DrillPro, who backed Jones when he made a wildcard outing at the event last year.

Jones will be looking to improve on the 24th place finishes he scored in the pair of races 12 months ago.

“I’m really pumped to be going racing this week at Hidden Valley. Being the lone wildcard, I’ll only be able to gauge how I’m going against the main guys, so it’ll be a little different from my debut here last year,” said the 23-year-old.

“I’m looking forward to getting out there, taking in as much as I can and doing the best job possible.

“Most people think since we’ve had a break in the race calendar that we’ve been able to relax a little bit, however there has been plenty going on in the BJR workshop.

“The #4 DrillPro Commodore has been built from the ground up and I’ve had two track days at Winton in the last two weeks.

“A lot of work and preparation goes on behind the scenes and on those days to ensure we’re learning as much as we can as a team.”

In preparation for the outing, Jones has conducted a test in Tim Slade’s ZB Commodore at Winton last month, before enjoying a run in his Super2 car at the venue last week.

“The first test was my wildcard test day in Tim Slade’s Freightliner Racing ZB Commodore,” added Jones.

“It was my chance to get reacquainted with the Dunlop supersoft tyre, spend more time behind the wheel of the new car and for our crew to get some valuable practice in as well.”

The car will make its debut on Friday when the CrownBet Darwin Triple Crown begins with opening practice at midday local time (1230 AEST).
