Tony D’Alberto is calling for assistance after the helmet which he wore on his way to a maiden Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 podium last year was stolen.
D’Alberto, who finished third in 2017 with Fabian Coulthard at Shell V-Power Racing, announced the theft on social media overnight.
The incident occurred just prior to last month’s Rabble.Club Sandown 500 (September 14-16) when D’Alberto’s car was broken into.
“Just prior to the Sandown 500, my car was broken in to at my house and my 2017 Bathurst podium helmet was taken,” read a post on D’Alberto’s personal and fan Facebook pages.
“I’m reaching out to my Motorsport family in the hope that we can raise awareness and relocate my helmet.
“I would really appreciate if you could share this post and if you see this helmet being sold, please get in contact ASAP.
“Thank you- TD.”
The helmet is an Arai and features a white, red, and blue design, as pictured.
“It is special to me as I wore that when I finished on the podium at Bathurst last year,” D’Alberto told Speedcafe.com.
“It is something you want to park in your living room.
“It would be nice if we can get it back.
“I hadn’t posted anything before because the Police were looking into it but nothing has come of it so I thought I’d put something out to the motorsport community to see if anyone had heard anything.”
