Volvo is set to confirm its 2014 V8 Supercars Championship entry with Garry Rogers Motorsport later this month.
The official launch will take place in Queensland on June 17 and coincide with the reveal of the company’s high performance S60 Polestar road car, according to a report by Motoring.com.au.
The news follows Speedcafe.com’s breaking story this morning regarding Volvo’s impending GRM deal.

Volvo Car Australia and Garry Rogers had both denied the plans to Speedcafe.com as the deal is on the brink of its final sign-off.
The S60 appears to be a perfect fit for V8 Supercars’ Car of the Future platform, although which engine the cars will run is currently unclear.
The 4.4 litre Volvo V8 previously sold in its S80 sedan and XC90 SUV have both been out of production for several years.
The road going Polestar-tuned S60s are equipped with a turbocharged six-cylinder engine. A five-cylinder motor is used in Volvo North America’s Pirelli World Challenge race cars, while its Scandinavian Touring Car effort uses that category’s control Renault V6.
V8 Supercars has partially developed a ‘generic’ engine specifically for the use of new manufacturers; an option that both Nissan and Erebus/AMG elected against taking.
GRM currently runs Walkinshaw Racing-sourced Chevrolet powerplants in its Holden Commodores.
