David Wall will display a special tribute on his Wilson Security Racing Commodore VE at the Sydney Telstra 500 this weekend.
Wall’s racing father Des died last night after a brief battle with brain cancer. He was 61 years old.

For the season-ending V8 event at Sydney Olympic Park, David will feature a classic image of Des driving his 2009 Sports Sedan championship-winning Corvette on his Commodore.
Despite his family’s grief, Wall confirmed he will race at Sydney this weekend, stating that his father would not have wanted it any other way.
“Des lived for his family and his motorsport. He has supported me through every stage of my life both personally and professionally,” Wall said.
“I will be racing this weekend and that’s how Des would want it.
“Des’ dream was to see me in V8s and I hope I can do him proud.”
Des Wall as diagnosed with cancer in July this year. At the time, he was leading the Kerrick Sports Sedan Championship until he fell Ill and couldn’t compete. Despite missing the final two rounds, he finished fifth in the championship.
The Sydney Telstra 500 kicks off in Homebush this Friday.
