James Davison will be behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car at Texas this weekend in the Masters US support race for historic grand prix machines.

Davison is booked to drive the 1978 Warsteiner liveried Arrows which was campaigned during that season by Riccardo Patrese.

The Circuit of the Americas track will host the Masters USA Series for 1970s and early 1980s examples on the undercard to this weekend’s US Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Davison has also landed the drive in the same car when the Masters follows the F1 American leg to Mexico the following weekend.

The entry list numbers 25 machines which includes a Lotus 77, Francois Cevert’s Tyrrell 002 and an FW07 B which was campaigned by Alan Jones during his 1980 championship-winning season.

The Masters Series is scheduled to see 2×25 minute practice sessions, a 25 minute qualifying session and 2×25 minute races.
