The huge Sandown incident between Will Davison and Michael Caruso at Sandown Raceway today will be investigated by V8 Supercars stewards in Sydney in two weeks.
One lap 35, Fujitsu Racing’s Caruso tapped the rear of the Toll Holden Racing Team Commodore of Davison at the end of the back straight, sending the pair into the tyre wall that caught out Garth Tander yesterday.
Caruso’s car nosed into the tyre wall, similar to Tander, while Davison was turned backwards into the wall at high speed, launching his car high into the air.
Davison was not impressed with the incident.
“I’m mates with Michael, but it was a pretty brain-dead move,” he said.
The incident caused the officials to stop the race.
