Brad Jones Racing has taken the covers off an eye catching Dunlop livery to be emblazoned on Nick Percat’s ZB Commodore at this weekend’s Watpac Townsville 400.
The Albury team has unveiled an attractive yellow, red and black design on the #8 Holden for visit to North Queensland.
It is not the first time Percat has carried the colours of Dunlop on his car having debuted a similar colour scheme at last year’s Coates Hire Ipswich SuperSprint.
“The Dunlop Racing Supercar was one of my favourite liveries from last year. The response the team had, as well as Dunlop, was fantastic,” said Percat.
“We’ve changed it a little bit for this year, with a brighter yellow and a flash of fluorescent red.”
Percat heads to Townsville lying 12th in the championship standings after recording a pair of top 10 finishes last time out at Darwin.
The South Australian has been enjoying a far stronger showing this season after an eventful campaign last year and is hopeful his form can continue on the Townsville streets.
“Now that we’re over the halfway mark of the 2018 Championship, it’s nice to reflect a little and know we’re in a better spot than this time last year,” Percat added.
“We’ve been in two of the three Top 10 Shootouts this year, and I’m eager to qualify the Dunlop Racing Supercar in it for Sunday.
“Townsville always provides close qualifying and racing. With two 200-kilometre races on the agenda it provides a good challenge for teams to get their strategies right on both days.
“We’ve seen less Safety Cars in recent years, but when they pop up, you generally see them more than once.”
The Watpac Townsville 400 begins on Friday with opening practice scheduled for 1125 AEST.
