The FIA has formally approved Formula 1’s 2019 season calendar following a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council on Wednesday.
During the meeting the WMSC made a number of decisions across the motorsport spectrum, among them the approval of F1’s calendar.
It will see the year start in Melbourne in mid-March and run until December 1 with Abu Dhabi again set to host the final event of the campaign.
Aside from avoiding triple-header weekends after teams expressed concerns at the workload they generated in 2018, the calendar is largely unchanged from 2018.
It’s expected Vietnam will appear in the 2020 calendar, while the British Grand Prix is currently without a deal beyond its 2019 event.
