The newly built Ford Ranger at Bathurst

Former Supercars privateer Richard Mork has been drafted in to drive Ranger Racing’s second Ford Ranger for the final two rounds of this year’s ECB SuperUtes Series.

Mork takes over the seat filled by David Sieders at Bathurst, when the 2016 V8 Utes Series winner stepped into the breach left by the absence of Chelsea Angelo and subsequently Matt Nolan.

The 71-year-old had himself become a regular in V8 Utes before the series came to a close last year.

“It’ll be great to have Morky around,” said team owner Michael Formosa.

“He’s good fun and hopefully he can keep up with Sieders’ pace and show the crowd what our second ute is made of.”

Sieders achieved a best result of third in Race 3 at Bathurst, the first race weekend for the team’s second Ranger.

Mork will be a team-mate of Christopher Formosa, who is currently eighth in the series.

In other driver news, Cameron Crick has confirmed that he will return to the driver’s seat of one of Sieders Racing Team’s two Mitsubishi Tritons after a first start in the series at Queensland Raceway in July.

Crick is understood to be taking the wheel of the car which Craig Dontas drove at Bathurst.

The next round supports the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 in a week’s time October 19-21.
