Lee Holdsworth has put Erebus Motorsport atop the time sheets on his final weekend with the team, recording the fastest time in second practice.

The Mercedes, sporting #300 this weekend in reference to Holdsworth’s upcoming 300th career V8 Supercars race start, put in a best of 1:28.88s with just under a minute remaining.

While narrowly missing out on improving the benchmark further with his final effort, the time proved good enough to edge Practice 1 pace-setter Jamie Whincup by 0.06s.

David Reynolds was the fastest of the Fords in third at the end of the 20 minutes ahead of Shane van Gisbergen, Michael Caruso and Russell Ingall.

Marcos Ambrose continued to dial himself into the Sydney Olympic Park circuit, ending the session in 22nd.

The Xbox Ford completed two runs on a single set of tyres, with a best of 1:30.25s coming during the opening spell.

Jason Bright struck trouble in the Team BOC Holden, spinning at Turn 11 and tagging the wall with the left-rear.

The damage was enough to see the #8 Commodore out for the remainder of the session after completing just four laps.

James Moffat was also saw his session cut short after brushing the wall at Turn 10 during the closing stages, leaving the #360 Nissan with a flat left-rear tyre.

The third and final 20 minute practice session of the day will get underway at 1420 local time.
