Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner says that his two star drivers will do their best to ensure that one of them wins this year’s Formula One World Championship.
After an emotion-charged season, Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso leads the title by eight points over Red Bull’s Mark Webber, who is a further seven points ahead of his team-mate Sebastian Vettel.

Horner says that while he won’t issue team orders, he is confident that if his drivers see an opportunity to ensure the team wins the drivers title, they will take it.
“Nobody has a crystal ball, nobody can foresee what will happen next weekend and all along we have tried to do the best to support them equally,” Horner told Autosport.
“And of course if they find themselves in a situation where one, because he cannot win, needs to help the other then of course I can only imagine that they will do that. But it will have to be a driver decision.”
This situation, clearly, would favour Australia’s Webber, but after a season of tension, will Vettel help Webber?
“Ultimately it is their decision,” Horner said of the chance of Vettel assisting Webber.
“They both drive for the team and I know that they will both do the best that they can in that situation, should it arise, for the team.”
In the post-race press conference, Vettel was asked if he would make way for Webber;
“It’s one week away,” the German said.
“As a kid, I never liked it when my parents teased me for something and didn’t answer my question, so now I’m in a good position to tease you, so you will see.”
Red Bull Racing wrapped up the Constructors’ Championship at last weekend’s Brazilian Grand Prix.
