V8 Supercars Championship leader James Courtney has topped the times at the end of the first day for the penultimate round of the V8 Supercars Championship Series at Sandown Raceway.
The Jim Beam Racing driver finished the session ahead of his three closest title rivals – Mark Winterbottom, Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup.
The TeamVodafone drivers both set their times late in the session, edging out SP Tools driver Shane van Gisbergen for the top three spot.
Rounding out the top 10 was Jonathon Webb (Dick Johnson Racing), Fabian Coulthard (Bundaberg Red Racing), Paul Dumbrell (The Bottle-O Racing), Steve Johnson and Will Davison (Toll HRT).
