Erebus Motorsport’s Brodie Kostecki will keep his Race 5 win from the Beaurepaires Melbourne SuperSprint today, Speedcafe.com understands.

After starting from pole, Kostecki led all 11 laps of the race, but a post-race penalty for a potential unsafe pit lane release threatened what is now his second Supercars career win in two days.

Behind the #99 Coca-Cola Camaro, Will Davison came home in second with Bryce Fullwood in third, but both drivers were handed subsequent 15-second penalties following unsafe releases during the race, which saw them fall to 11th and 12th respectively.

That meant that Shane van Gisbergen inherited second place and Kostecki’s team-mate Will Brown into third, making it yet another double podium for Erebus Motorsport, who lead the 2023 Repco Supercars Teams Championship.

While Shane van Gisbergen scored the fastest lap bonus point, Kostecki is now only a single point behind Walkinshaw Andretti United’s Chaz Mostert in the drivers’ Championship.

Van Gisbergen’s Triple Eight Race Engineering team has also been cleared after one of its wheels was sent flying by Dick Johnson Racing’s Will Davison upon exit from his adjacent pit box.
