A run at the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed behind the wheel of the 2006 Bathurst 1000 winning Triple Eight Ford Falcon is among Craig Lowndes’ motorsport ambitions.
The Triple Eight driver is pushing for team owner Roland Dane to take the car to the UK for a drive at the prestigious annual motorsport festival in England.
Lowndes has a special bond with the 2006 Betta Electrical Falcon having taken an emotional victory alongside Jamie Whincup at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 held weeks after the death of the legendary driver and mentor Peter Brock.
The 44-year-old, who will retire from full-time Supercars racing at the end of the year, revealed his Goodwood ambition during an interview on Greg Rust’s Rusty’s Garage podcast.
“It’s the only car that Roland has kept in the team,” said Lowndes of the 2006 Bathurst 1000 winning car, which is currently housed at The Bend Motorsport Park.
“I’m pushing him, and hopefully he hears this, to go to Goodwood. I’d love to drive that car (there).

“I hope he doesn’t sell it and if he does go to sell it, I hope whoever buys it, I’d love to drive that car again. It has very fond memories.”
Lowndes is hoping to increase his international motorsport commitments next year in addition to a Pirtek Enduro Cup campaign with Triple Eight.
