Martin/Talbot Porsche takes pole for SMP 501

The Walkinshaw Racing Porsche of Talbot/Martin

The Walkinshaw Racing Porsche of Liam Talbot and John Martin will start on pole position for the Australian Endurance Championship’s Sydney Motorsport Park 501.

Martin finished Qualifying 1 in fifth in the 911 GT3-R before Talbot almost matched his time in Qualifying 2 to give car #911 the fastest average time.

The Mega Porsche will line up alongside the Jamec Pem Audi R8 of Kelvin van der Linde and Geoff Emery after the former was fastest in Qualifying 1.

Row 2 will be Dom Storey/Peter Hackett (Eggleston Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT) and Warren Luff/Fraser Ross (McElrea Racing McLaren 650S).

Tony D’Alberto/Max Twigg qualified fifth in the latter’s Mercedes-AMG GT, while Dylan O’Keeffe lifted the #124 Audi R8 which he is sharing with Daniel Gaunt from 14th after Qualifying 1 to sixth on the grid.

The 129-lap Sydney Motorsport Park 501 will see the green flag tomorrow at 0735 local time/AEST.
