Rising Australian single seater star Matthew Brabham continues to impress ahead of his rookie Indy Lights season.
The 19-year-old, who has agreed to a deal to drive for Andretti Autosports in the category, ended a two-day test third fastest at Sebring.
Only 10 cars competed in the test with the son of multiple IMSA and 1993 Le Mans 24 Hour racer Geoff Brabham, eclipsing former GP2 star Luis Razia and British Formula 3 champion Jack Harvey.
Indy Lights regular Zach Veach, also driving for Andretti Autosports, topped the timesheets with a 58.010s, which was 0.064s quicker than Gabby Chaves.
Brabham was just 0.140s adrift of Veach in third, while Razia was sixth and Harvey seventh.
Brabham is gearing up for his first full season in Indy Lights after a record-breaking 2013 campaign that saw him lift the Pro Mazda title.
“We had a great day testing at Sebring”, Brabham posted on his Facebook page.
“It was very productive and we made a lot of improvements. Ended up P3, everyone is very close at the front.”
Andretti Autosports are expected unveil liveries for all their cars including Brabham’s entry early next week.
