Hunter McElrea has taken a clean sweep of the weekend at Wakefield Park Raceway to extend his Australian Formula Ford Championship lead.
The Sonic Motor Racing driver headed home Bart Horsten and Hamish Ribarits in the opening race on Saturday before the latter pair swapped positions in Race 2.
A Safety Car-filled Race 3 saw incidents for Conor Nicholson, William Marshall, Liam McLellan and Jake Donaldson over the course of the race.
Upon the first restart, Horsten made a pass on Ribarits for second and went off in search of race leader McElrea with the second intervention arriving a lap later.
The race ultimately went time certain, shortened by four laps as the cars took the chequered flag under Safety Car.
Cameron Shields finished fourth ahead of a consistent Courtney Prince who claimed fifth in all three of the weekend’s races.
Lachlan Mineeff took out fourth in Race 1 and 2, before dropping back to seventh in the final hit out.
McElrea now holds a 17 point advantage at the top of the standings at the conclusion of Round 3.
The Australian Formula Ford Championship will head to Sandown Raceway from July 20-22 for Round 4.
