James Moffat has been docked 25 points for spinning team-mate Rick Kelly in Saturday’s opening race at Winton.
The pair came together at the exit of Turn 7 after the final Safety Car restart, rotating Kelly’s Jack Daniel’s entry out of sixth place.
Saturday’s incident came after Kelly had jumped Moffat before the control line on an earlier restart, which eventually yielded the 2006 champion a drive-through penalty.
The pair went on to finish 20th and 18th respectively, with Moffat having found himself on the receiving end of a separate incident involving Russell Ingall and David Wall.
Moffat, who won the Winton opener last year, apologised to Kelly immediately after the race.
Coincidentally, the penalty sees Moffat drop behind his team-mate to 16th in the points standings.
Race 7 proved the second time in three events that the pair have been involved in an incident.
The fourth and final encounter at Albert Park saw both Moffat and Kelly collected following a touch between Kelly and Michael Caruso’s Nissan.
Stewards meanwhile have cleared other Race 7 incidents between Kelly and Jason Bright, Nick Percat and David Reynolds, and Lee Holdsworth and Percat.
This morning’s stewards report also confirms that “the IO (Investigating Officer, Jason Bargwanna) is investigating other matters involving Russell Ingall Car #23 and Lucas Dumbrell.”
