James Moffat will drive in an expanded, three-car Wall Racing outfit in this year’s Porsche Wilson Security Carrera Cup Australia.
Moffat will line up alongside 2017 Carrera Cup champion David Wall and former Australian GT driver Greg Taylor.
The drive comes in addition a recently announced Pirtek Enduro Cup co-driver role at Tickford Racing, after Moffat was replaced by James Golding at Garry Rogers Motorsport.
The 33-year-old previously drove a full season of Carrera Cup in 2008, finishing fourth in the standings and winning the final race of the season on the Gold Coast.
“It’s exciting to be joining a team that is not only competing for race wins but also the championship,” said Moffat.
“It’s been 10 years since I last raced in the category, so I’m eager to get out there and experience the cars again and see what we can achieve on track throughout the year.
“After a couple of tough years, it’s so nice to be so pumped to go racing again and be really confident that if everything goes well we can be contending to win races.”
“To be able to take the next step with the team and expand Wall Racing further is exciting,” added team manager David Fyfe.
“It’s great to have Greg back with the team and with James joining the team it is going to be a fantastic year. We all have high expectations for the season. We are looking forward to taking delivery of the cars and to test in preparation for season opener at the Adelaide 500.”
As well as the trio of Carrera Cup entries, Wall Racing will field Chelsea Angelo in Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge.
The Carrera Cup season gets underway at the Adelaide 500 on March 1-4.
