James Moffat will test his Ford Performance Racing-prepared Falcon at Winton tomorrow – the car he hopes will make him the 2010 Fujitsu V8 Supercars champion.
Moffat will test the Jim Morton-owned Ford Falcon BF at Winton for the first time after recently announcing a deal to drive for the reborn Ford Rising Stars Racing team. He will also drive with FPR in the endurance races.
The FRSR Falcon will carry major support from Norton 360. The BF was last raced by Michael Patrizi in the Championship Series in 2008.
FPR team principal Tim Edwards told Speedcafe.com.au that while the majority of the factory Ford team are returning from the Middle East after the first two rounds of the V8 Supercars Championship Series, Moffat’s Falcon is currently being prepared by the ‘factory crew.’
“Moff’s car’s ready now,” he said.
“The boys will finish the set-up and stickering on Monday, ready for the test on Tuesday.
“The timing of that one works out perfectly, because our freight doesn’t get back until Wednesday. The factory crew will look after the test on Tuesday, and that will be ready for a bit of polish before Clipsal while they dive into our Championship cars on Wednesday afternoon.”
First photos of Moffat’s Falcon will be released later this afternoon.
