Prodrive Supercars star Chaz Mostert will make a return to the Australian Production Cars Series at Winton Motor Raceway next weekend.
The 2014 Bathurst 1000 winner has confirmed plans to team up with Nathan Morcom for the second round of the series at the rural Victorian circuit from June 9-11.
Mostert will drive the Direct Plasterboard Outlet backed Ford Focus RS LZ he shared with Morcom at the season opening Bathurst 6 Hour last month.
The duo won the inaugural six hour production car Mount Panorama endurance in 2016, before finishing second in this year’s race following a dramatic finish.
Next weekend they will combine once again to take on two 300km races at Winton.
“Bathurst was a pretty interesting event for us, we debuted a new car and had to iron out some bugs – it was pretty cool to get a second place there and to be leading towards the last couple of laps,” said Mostert.
“We are definitely out for some redemption and are looking forward to Winton – the boys have been working hard with the RS to find some extra speed and iron out some issues.
“I really enjoy racing the production cars, it lets you get back to the basics a bit, and I am looking forward to running beside Nathan again – it is always good fun.”
Mostert admitted he is keen to compliment his Supercars commitments with further production car outings this year.
However, he will be unable to contest the third round due to a clash with Supercars’ Watpac Townsville 400 from July 7-9.
