The iconic bridge that spans the Mount Panorama pit straight has been removed to undergo a refurbishment.
Bathurst Regional Council and local contractors are today involved in the tricky process of removing the bridge by crane from the circuit so it can undergo a revamp.
The 16-tonne bridge which acts as a walkway to the infield of the circuit came from the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and was installed in the 2004 redevelopment.
A newly refurbished bridge will be installed in July ahead of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 from October 10-13.
