Richie Stanway has been given a post-race penalty for contact with Lee Holdsworth during Race 4 of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship at Albert Park.
Stanway had five seconds added to his race time, dropping the #33 Boost Mobile ZB Commodore from 19th to 21st.
Stewards found the New Zealander guilt of careless driving for contact at Turn 6 on Lap 2 which caused Holdsworth to leave the track and drop from 14th to 18th.
Stanaway’s Garry Rogers Motorsport team-mate James Golding was handed the same penalty during the race when he failed to leave racing room for Andre Heimgartner on Walker Straight at the end of Lap 1, putting Car #34 back to 23rd after taking the chequered flag 21st on the road.
Holdsworth recovered to finish 12th in the last of the six Ford Mustangs home.
Todd Hazelwood was investigated for twice cutting the second part of the fast Turn 11/Turn 12 complex over the backside of the lake, but was cleared due to his struggle to control the Matt Stone Racing ZB Commodore as a result of damage from an incident with Nick Percat.
Race 5 of the season, the third race at the Beaurepaires Melbourne 400, starts tonight at 1830 local time/AEDT.
