Porsche maintain WEC edge after P2 in Texas

Timo Bernhard left his run late to be quickest in P2 ahead of Round 5 of the World Endurance Championship in Texas

Porsche continues to hold the balance of power in the build-up to the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas by topping Practice 2.

As the competition at Round 5 of the World Endurance Championship intensifies, Timo Bernhard banged in the fastest time in the 90-minute session in the #17 919 he shares with Mark Webber and Brendon Hartley.

Bernhard clocked a 1:47.44s lap to unseat the #8 Audi R18 e-tron quattro driver Loic Duval (1:47.68s) who occupied the top until the closing minutes.

The second Porsche of Romain Dumas, which set the pace in P1, was third fastest ahead of the #7 Audi driven by Marcel Fassler.

Dumas’ blistering time in P1 of 1:47.23s was not troubled by the night session activity.

Sam Bird sent G-Drive Racing’s Ligier-Nissan to the top in LMP2, by besting P1 pacesetters KCMG.
