Prodrive Racing Australia has strengthened its association with Roger Penske’s empire, extending its deal with truck supplier Western Star.

Western Star is one of a fleet of brands distributed in Australia by Penske Transportation Group International, which also includes MAN and Dennis Eagle.

Prodrive’s link with Penske is underpinned by a partnership that sees it supply parts and technical support to the DJR Team Penske V8 Supercars effort.

The team’s new deal with Western Star extends through the end of 2017.

“It is great to be continuing our successful partnership with Prodrive Racing,” said Penske Transportation Group International’s general manager of marketing, Kimberley Ruddock

“The success on the race track we’ve shared, coupled with marketing and promotional benefits of the relationship, means our partnership is multi-faceted and works across our entire business.”

Western Star has minor branding on Prodrive’s Pepsi Max Fords and is expected to feature as the primary sponsor on DJRTP’s Falcon for at least one event later this year.
