Australian production car racer Jake Camilleri will get his first taste of a V8 Supercar next month.
Camilleri, who will compete in Spain and England in the coming months in endurance racing, has scored a test drive with Paul Morris Motorsport at Queensland Raceway, thanks to Castrol.
The motor oil giants sponsor Camilleri’s Mazda 3 MPS production car, and through its major association with PMM, Castrol has helped put the deal together for Camilleri to get his first test in a V8.
Another link to the Camilleri V8 test is with Ryan McLeod. Camilleri, McLeod and Scott Nicholas will team up in September and October to drive McLeod’s Holden Astra in back-to-back 24 Hour races at Cataluyna, Spain, and Silverstone, England in the Britcar 24 Hour.
McLeod’s overseas endurance Astra car is also supported by Castrol.

“The test has come about through Castrol,” McLeod told Speedcafe.com.
“Jake has been running well in production cars, so it will be a nice reward for him before we head off to Spain.”
Camilleri is scheduled to test one of Morris’ V8 Supercars on September 5.
McLeod, Camilleri and Nicholas have committed to competing in both endurance races at Cataluyna and Silverstone, but are still looking for a fourth driver to compliment their efforts.

“The car looks pretty good. We’re happy with how it has turned out,” McLeod said.
“We’re still looking for a fourth driver. The timing of it has made it a little difficult (being the week of the Bathurst 1000), but that’s something we will deal with.”
After the two enduros, the car will head to Dubai for the 24 Hour race there in January, before coming back to Australia to race in the Bathurst 12 Hour in February.
