Multi-national entrepreneur Tony Quinn has revealed his latest innovation at Highlands Motorsport Park; Loo with a View.

Located in Cromwell, a little under an hours’ drive out from Queenstown, Highlands Motorsport Park is New Zealand’s newest permanent racing facility.

The 22-turn, 4.1km circuit is flanked by a museum, which is adjacent to Quinn’s newest creation.

Dubbed ‘Loo with a View’, circuit attendees will now be able to empty the tank with a view of the course and the surrounding mountains courtesy of one-way glass.

Quinn believes a lot can be said about a place by its toilets.

“We spend a considerable part of our lives in the toilet and as you get older you need to visit them more often,” Quinn quipped.

“You can learn a lot about a hotel, restaurant, cafe or country from its toilets. Take Japan for example. Great toilets, great country.

“New Zealand should be very proud of its toilets. We’ve got good, clean, well-maintained public toilets and we’ve come a long way since the long drop.

“We came up with lots of different ideas about what we could do with the toilets and the Loo with a View floated to the top.”

Highlands Motorsport Park is well known for its quirkiness.

The circuit is littered with statues, ranging from a silverback gorilla and chimpanzee to a UFO and alien, which sit trackside.

Now the facility has themed toilets to match.

One of its toilets features musical urinals, while another is cast in the image of Donald Trump.

It’s hoped the new loo complex will prompt people to donate to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

“It’s not in our style to doing anything half-arsed,” said Highlands Motorsport Park Chief Operating Officer Josie Spilane added.

“The toilets will not only bring a smile to people’s faces, our goal is for them to be the Fergburger of toilets – everyone needs to try it, take a photo of it and spread the word.

“We are really proud at the same time, that they are also going to do their bit for the health of Kiwi men.”

Paul Hayes of the Prostate Cancer Foundation added, “We are really excited about the potential for these toilets to help us with our call to action for Kiwi men to get the check.

“It’s a serious subject, but this is a light-hearted way to ensure our message is loud and clear.

“We already enjoy a great relationship with their sister track Hampton Downs, and we’ve begun discussions about a Pedal for Prostate on the Highlands track next year.”
