The Renault F1 Team has advised that its preparations for this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix have not been affected by the truck crash en route to the event.
The team stated shortly after the incident that the driver “had not suffered serious injury”, although he was hospitalised.
He has since returned home, while Renault has also confirmed that there has been no impact on its race weekend as a result of the crash.
“The driver of the Renault F1 Team truck involved in a road traffic accident in Hungary on Monday continues to make good progress and has returned home,” read a team statement.
“The goods being transported were not damaged and the team’s preparations for the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend have not been affected.
“We look forward to getting the weekend underway.”
Practice 1 at the Hungaroring starts tonight at 1900 AEST.
