David Sieders capped off his V8 Utes Series title winning season with another race victory and a round win on the final day at the Coates Hire Sydney 500.

Sharing the front row for Race 3, Sieders and Ryal Harris leaned heavily on each other off the start line before the new champion emerged in the lead.

Kim Jane attempted to capitalise as Harris had his eyes forward, but was instead shuffled back from third to fifth on the opening lap.

Sieders established a healthy margin over the opening laps before that was gradually whittled away by Harris.

However, the outgoing series winner could not get close enough to mount an attack on the Mango Credit Commodore.

Nathan Pretty finished third, from Craig Dontas and Jeremy Gray.

Earlier, Pretty won the reverse grid race.

Starting fifth, the Burbank Commodore driver made three positions in the first corner, and took the lead at Turn 1 next time around.

Harris found his way into second on Lap 4, but faced a five-second margin to the race leader.

The Safety Car did close up the field on Lap 6 when Marcus Zukanovic found the wall at the end of the Turn 1 run-off area due to brake failure, but the race did not restart.

As a result, Pretty took the honours, ahead of Harris, Jane, Sieders, and Barbera.

Sieders had already taken out the title with a win in Race 1, the day prior.

The V8 Utes Series is expected to return next year at the Phillip Island Super Sprint, April 21-23.
