Shae Davies has moved to Paul Morris Motorsport for this year’s Dunlop Super2 Series.
Davies will drive the Queensland outfit’s FGX Falcon for what will be his fourth full season in the second tier of Supercars.
The 27-year-old has spent the last two seasons at MW Motorsport, which included two wildcard starts in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship last year.
Davies was also called up to drive Erebus Motorsport’s #4 Commodore for the latter six Supercars Championship events of 2016, after Aaren Russell split with the team.
“I really like Paul’s approach to going racing, it’s no fuss, all attack attitude to going racing,” Davies told Speedcafe.com.
“He knows what’s important and what to focus on in the team and I just really admire that approach.
“Myself, Paul and the team, the whole reason we’ve done the deal is to go and win the championship, so that’s 100 percent our goal for the season,” he added.
“PMM do a fantastic job, the car’s immaculate, and I’m driving as well as I’ve ever done, so I think it’s our best chance to launch a title fight.
“I’m really excited about being a single car effort, it’s very attractive for us.
“It means the whole team’s resources are focused on our car, and the whole package is just really attractive to me.”
Davies is so far winless in Super2 but did take his first pole at Townsville in 2017.
His best weekend to date has been Phillip Island last year, when he finished the four races with three third placings and one second placing.
The Queenslander won the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series in 2013 and has also raced in Carrera Cup.
Paul Morris Motorsport has fielded a Falcon for Anton de Pasquale for the past two years, helping the 22-year-old to two race wins and a seat in the Supercars Championship this year with Erebus Motorsport.
The 2018 Super2 Series begins at the Adelaide 500 on March 1-4.
