Supercheap Auto Racing has unveiled a new livery ahead of the Wilson Security Sandown 500, the opening round of the 2014 Pirtek Enduro Cup.

Triggered by the 10 year anniversary of Supercheap Auto’s association with the iconic Bathurst 1000 enduro, full timer Tim Slade and co-driver Tony D’Alberto will debut the new paint scheme at this weekend’s Sandown 500.

The sponsor is promoting a competition that will see the winner enjoy a hot lap of the Mount Panorama circuit in the car with Slade.

The rare prize will be won by a Supercheap Club Plus member who purchases a participating brand product in-store.

“Supercheap Auto is really proud of its decade-long association with Australia’s Great Race, the iconic Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000,” said Supercheap Auto Brand Manager David Bauer.

“We think the commemorative livery, and hot lap competition, is a great way to share our ‘10 years on the mountain’ celebrations with everyone.”

Slade has endured a rough run over recent V8 Supercars events but is hoping for a strong run alongside D’Alberto across the three-event Pirtek Enduro Cup.

“Sandown is the traditional warm-up to Bathurst and what better way to begin celebrations for Supercheap Auto’s 10 Years on the Mountain – the livery looks great,” Slade said.

“To also celebrate by giving away a special once-in-a-lifetime experience to one of our Supercheap Auto Club Plus members is very fitting.”

For D’Alberto, Sandown will mark his first V8 Supercars race since last year’s season finale.

“I feel really comfortable in the Commodore, and pretty happy with my lap times compared to Tim,” D’Alberto said following a recent two-day test at Winton.

“Sandown is a pretty cool track. It’s very fast, and requires a lot of commitment across the top there in the back straight. It’s got a lot of different variations, and driving styles that you need to attack the track with. I’ve done a lot of laps there in the past.”
